In an article in last sunday’s Sunday Times it is suggested that people’s weight loss plans are being sabotaged by “Low Fat” foods.  It points out that low flat breakfast cereals and cereal bars are high in Carbohydrates.  You just have to read the packet to see that this is true.

We should reduce our fat intake to avoid developing high cholesterol levels which cause heart desease.  So “Low Fat” foods are a good idea in that respect.  Eating fatty foods will result in weight gain, but this will be minimal in a balanced diet.

A diet high in carbohydrates (bread, potatoes, pasta and white rice) will inevitably result in weight gain.  These carbohydrates are converted into sugar by the insulin in the body and stored as fat.  A diet low in carbohydrates, like the Atkins diet and many others, will result in weight loss.

As part of the Hypno-band program my clients are advised to cut right back on carbohydrates and they begin to lose weight straightaway.  The hypnotherapy sessions enable them to change their behaviour and eating habits and they no longer snack or crave carbohydrates.
